Hiring – Truck & Heavy Duty Machinery Mechanic
Immex Waste Management are looking to hire an experienced truck mechanic, at our head office & workshop, in the Klapmuts Area between Paarl & Brackenfell. Your main duty would be to inspect, service, and maintain our fleet of trucks & accessories. As a lead mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring that our fleet & its equipment are being maintained properly. You will also be responsible for administrative duties which will control services, capture of breakdowns & repairs, and diesel consumption. You should have proven experience doing truck repairs and be able to troubleshoot issues & fix them as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Inspecting trucks & equipment for proper performance.
- Service schedules
- Adjusting pumps & equipment and replacing faulty parts.
- Cleaning and servicing of machine attachments eg pumps and blowers.
- Performing major repair work when necessary.
- Consulting with other mechanics.
- Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management.
- Workshop & Tools Management
Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of Diesel engines and Pump equipment.
- Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatics and electrical systems.
- Ability to work after-hours if required.
- Good communication skills.
- Medically fit to perform duties.
- Own Transport
Desired Experience & Qualification:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 10+ Years Proven work experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic.
